Help Save a Brilliant Charity Scheme

Published by - 31/05/2015

Arch Communications is proud to be part of a fantastic scheme called ProHelp. It gives charities and community groups free access to expertise (including ours!) which they couldn’t otherwise afford. But now ProHelp needs help of its own.

Since it began in the East Midlands 20 years ago, ProHelp has:

  • Supported hundreds of organisations and thousands of projects
  • Given free access to professional help estimated to be worth more than £2.5m
  • Provided around 20,000 hours of services – the equivalent of more than 10 years!

ProHelp member firms like Arch Communications undertake one-off projects covering a wide range of legal, financial and business issues. For example, we’ve helped charities Home-Start Nottingham and Sporting HEARTS with their PR and marketing.

So you can see that it’s a great idea. But unfortunately, ProHelp is in serious danger of closure.

For the last six years, most of ProHelp’s running costs have been met by the European Regional Development Fund, but that ends in September. Unless the £50,000 needed can be raised in other ways, ProHelp is likely to close within months.

So we’re asking the wider business community to help make up the shortfall through cash donations, or by signing up to ProHelp like us and paying a modest membership fee.

It’s enormously rewarding to be involved in ProHelp and we know it makes a huge difference. If it finishes, the losers will be the charities, voluntary and community groups of the East Midlands.
